Welcome to the website of Xi Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Our website will be used to educate, initiate, and demonstrate the purpose of our organization. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, is the oldest Greek-lettered organization founded by women on the campus of Howard University on January 15, 1908. We appreciate the rich legacy of our founders and proudly carry on the resounding spirit of service, scholarship, and sisterhood.
The Mission of Xi Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated seeks to promote unity and friendship among women, as we cultivate talents and skills to encourage high scholastic and ethical standards while providing “Service to All Mankind.” Xi Phi Omega was established in 1983 and serves five counties in North Carolina: Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Lincoln and Rutherford. We proudly sponsor an active undergraduate chapter on the campus of Appalachian State University. Omicron Kappa is highly visible among their collegiate peers and works in sisterly unison with Xi Phi Omega to increase awareness of health initiatives, community and global concerns, and promote leadership, service, and scholarship.
As one of more than 1000 chapters nationally and internationally answering the call to “Service”, Xi Phi Omega is delighted to join more than 300,000 members to expand our organization’s impact under the theme of Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service. By serving this distinguished organization, modeled by the outstanding leadership and direction of our 30th International President, Dr. Glenda Baskins Glover, we will address community and global needs through five target areas. The five target areas are: Target I: HBCU for Life: A Call to Action; Target 2: Women’s Healthcare and Wellness; Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy; Target 4: The Arts!; and Target 5: Global Impact.
I invite you to support our community and global activities as we enthusiastically continue making an impact with passion and purpose of serving all mankind.
Dr. La’Ronda Whiteside
